of Light: Sculpting Spaces Artist Workshops at Scarborough
Museum
Join the Queer Tamil Collective's Tkaronto-based artists and learn
to carve, cast and weave new ways of being during this time of
unraveling. Dive into new creative techniques and learn how the
arts can be used to build spaces that foster a sense of community,
anchored in safety and creativity for marginalized queer and trans
voices. Participants will be encouraged to imagine and create works
reflecting on memory, identity, and queer liberation.
Saturday, December 9th: Lino-Cut
Workshop with Dhiviya Prabaharan
In this workshop, participants will be led by multi-disciplinary
textile artist Dhiviya Prabaharan as they learn common carving and
printing techniques using lino-cut, ink and fabric.
Sunday, December 10th: Air-Dry Clay
Workshop with Zaida
Ceramics artist Zaida will be guiding participants through methods
of sculpting and molding using air-dry clay.
Thursday, December 28th: Crochet
Beanie Workshop with Vishnu Premadas
Participants will have the opportunity to learn simple crocheting
techniques and leave with their own beanie in this interactive
workshop led by crochet and textile artist Vishnu Premadas.
All workshops are beginner-friendly with materials and light
refreshments provided.
Tickets guarantee a reserved space and use of site-provided
